Mmmm…. Chocolate Souffle. I was feeling a little bleh today so I went treasure hunting inside my freezer. I found this Trader Joe’s Chocolate Souffle. Yummy. It is ready to bake and comes with its own ramekin. I popped in the oven for 20 minutes and out came a VERY DELICIOUS treat. All puffy, chocolaty, and yummy. I like how the texture came out. Soft in the middle, with melted chocolate goodness in the top middle, and a slightly harden top. Absolutely divine. Each souffle is 270 calories, 6 WW, 16 grams of fat, 2 grams of fiber, and 13 grams of sugar. Not the most healthiest thing around, but it was really good. I like how I know exactly the damage I am doing, unlike ordering dessert from a restaurant and having to guesstimate the calories. Overall, this is a nice treat once in a while and there is only 2 in a box, so it goes away pretty fast.

I picked the Chocolate Chip flavor up as well as the Dark Chocolate Almond the other day. I thought for sure I would like the almond flavor more, but that is not the case. The bar has a real chocolate chip cookie feel to it with a lot of oaty stuff on top. Again, very filling and keeps my hunger at bay for hours. Plus, this flavor has less calories too. One bar is 120 calories, 4 g of fat, 9 g of fiber and 7 g of sugar. If I were to repurchase again, it’s going to be the Chocolate Chip flavor. Did I mention that these bars are in a box of 5 instead of the normal 6? I think Kellogs is being a little on the cheap side.

I’ve read comments of people swearing off fiber bars due to the bad side effects after one try. I have never had any fiber bars before, so I was intrigued to pick this new Fiber Plus bar by Kellog’s when I saw it on sale at Target for $1.88. Of course, I had a coupon which made this a pretty good deal compared to its normal price. The taste was not all that great. It looked like a lot of chocolate, but it wasn’t as chocolaty as I expected. I wished these had whole almonds in them instead of bites and pieces, which were hardly even noticeable. This is sort of like a chocolate covered rice krispy bar. Coming from a girl that eats spinach by the pound (lots of fiber), I did not experience any of those so call side effects that a lot of people claim to have experienced. Although not as tasty as some other bars I’ve had, these are SUPER filling. One bar lasted me a good 2-3 hours. I had no urge to snack or nibble after eating this at all. Beautiful way to end the night since I find myself snacking a lot at night. One bar is 130 calories, 2 WW, 5 grams of fat, 9 grams of fiber and 7 grams of sugar.

I like chocolate, but I’m not a chocolate snob. I don’t have to spend an arm and a leg to satisfy my chocolate cravings. These Hershey’s All Natural Extra Chocolate 60% Cacao (infused with raspberry flavor) were on sale for $1.84 and I had a coupon for $1.00 off. $0.84 for a huge bag of chocolate — score!! I’ve tried the regular ones before and I quite liked them. Since these are flavoed, I expected some gooey raspberry filling like the Ghirardell ones, but I was pleasantly surprised. It was INFUSED, so no filling, just pure dark chocolate with raspberry flavor. Yummy. I like the individual wrapping of each square. Perfect for portion control. One piece is only 45 calories. Hershey’s tries to advertise their dark chocolate as full of antioxidants (480 mg per serving) and good for you, but I eat it because it’s GOOD. I store mine in the fridge because it’s more firm and cool on the palate.

Feels soooo good to hit the gym again! It was cold, windy and raining, but I couldn’t let that be my excuse anymore. I felt so nasty after indulging so much this past week. Nothing like a nice long workout to help me detox. Fresh & Easy is literally 1 block away from my gym, so after my workout, I went in to browse a little bit. You never know what goodies you can find there. Lots of “almost expired” stuff on sale, but I don’t do “almost expired” so I passed on all that. Remember the Trader Joe Pretzel Slim post? Well, I found the same pretzel slims at Fresh & Easy for even cheaper than TJ. The TJ bag is $2.19 for an 8 oz bag, but this F&E bag is $2.99 for a 16 oz bag (twice the size). I’m pretty sure they are the same because I compared the nutritional information and the ingredients list and they are exactly the same. They taste just the same too. I’m loving this awesome deal.
